KPRC (Houston)Biography
Many Houstonians consider Dominique Sachse a hometown girl, complete with a friendly Texas charm. Dominique would be the first to agree that Houston is a great place to live, since she considers it her home. However, she was born in Miami and didn't become a "true Texan" until her family moved here in 1975.
Dominique graduated from Spring Branch I.S.D.'s Memorial High School before attending Richmond College in England and graduating from the University of Houston with a radio/television journalism degree. She joined KPRC-TV in 1993.
Dominique decided that anchoring was her "perfect fit" when she went on-air to report on the San Jacinto River fire in 1994. She quickly realized her gift of taking a major breaking news event and telling it to Houstonians in an interesting and unique fashion.
Another one of Dominique's greatest joys in her job is working with local students, helping them plan their careers and future.
She's proud to be a role model. In 1996, Dominique was named Outstanding Young Communications Alumnus by the University of Houston. She has already received awards from the Associated Press and the Houston Press Club for her spot news reporting, including her anchoring of the Emmy award-winning team coverage of Tropical Storm Allison.
2002 was an exciting year from Dominique. She received a Distinguished Alumni award from her alma mater and was named Best TV personality by the Houston chapter of American Women in Radio and Television.
Dominique remains an active UH alumna who has sat on the boards of both the Alumni Organization and the Communication Alumni Association, and is actively involved in fund raising events for the various University of Houston campuses. One of these is the Dominique Sachse Hoops and Hardball golf tournament, which benefits athletics at U of H. For more information, contact James Nicas at (713) 743-3793. She has also teamed up with the Houston Humane Society to raise awareness of animal abuse and neglect, and has recently joined the Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Network as honorary chair to raise awareness of food allergies in children.

Dominique's family includes her husband, Scott; son Styles, born on April 19, 2005; and English bulldog Butkus. Click here to see slideshows of Styles' pictures.
Dominique's hobbies include weight lifting, traveling, skiing, taking drum lessons, dining out and watching movies ("The Notebook" and "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" are favorites).
